At that time, there was in fact an American rider on the team, namely, Nicky Hayden.<\/p>\n<p>The Kentucky Kid used his knowledge of the track to get the pole position and victory in that GP.<\/p>\n<p>The following year, the paddock repeated this visit and most of riders were then familiar with the circuit. However, Hayden again used the <strong>&#8220;home field advantage&#8221;<\/strong> to secure the victory. Hayden performed outstandingly the entire weekend by finishing in a well-earned second place.<\/p>\n<p>The team continued racing strong on American soil in 2009, this time with Pedrosa. The Castellar del Vall\u00e9s native got a pole position in Indianapolis and won after a magnificent race at Laguna Seca.<\/p>\n<p>The pole position in the 2009 Indy was not enough for Dani, because the following season he returned to win the Grand Prix, demonstrating that he is particularly good on American tracks.<\/p>\n<p>2011 was Casey Stoner\u2019s year. <strong>The Australian rider took the top of the podium for himself in both Indianapolis<\/strong> as well as in Laguna Seca. He also had the fastest laps in both GPs, confirming that he was the rider who unequivocally dominated that season. Dani Pedrosa joined him on the podium on both occasions.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, the two Repsol riders split the victories. In &#8217;93 he won for the first time in a MotoGP, specifically in Austin, during the paddock&#8217;s first visit to the circuit of the Americas. <strong>Marc was the youngest rider with a win in the highest class<\/strong>. He did so with his teammate, Pedrosa, in second place.<\/p>\n<p>That same year, the rider from Cervera also took a win (and the fastest lap) in his first visit to Laguna Seca <strong>being the youngest rider to win two consecutive races in MotoGP<\/strong> and finished off the American calendar with a pole position, a win, and a fastest lap in Indianapolis. Here Dani once again finished at his side on the podium.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014 as well as in 2015, Marc returned to win both in Austin and Indianapolis, making it clear that he was the new &#8220;king&#8221; of American tracks on the world championship calendar. He won again in Austin on 2016 and 2017, establishing his domain.<\/p>\n<p>With his 2018 victory in the circuit of the Americas, the Repsol riders reminded all MotoGP fans that, when stepping on American soil, they are the competitors to beat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUMMARY TABLE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Repsol Honda Team has accumulated a total of 18 wins in the US:<\/p>\n<p>Six in Indianapolis, Six in Laguna Seca, and\u00a0Six in Austin.
