{"id":96513,"date":"2017-08-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-12T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/uncategorized\/third-consecutive-pole-position-marc-marquez\/"},"modified":"2017-08-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-08-12T02:00:00","slug":"third-consecutive-pole-position-marc-marquez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/pre.boxrepsol.com\/en\/motogp-en\/third-consecutive-pole-position-marc-marquez\/","title":{"rendered":"Third consecutive pole position for Marc M\u00e1rquez"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p>We\u2019ve really taken a good step forward with the bike<\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share?text=We%E2%80%99ve+really+taken+a+good+step+forward+with+the+bike&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.boxrepsol.com%2Fen%2Fmotogp-en%2Fthird-consecutive-pole-position-marc-marquez%2F&#038;hashtags=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            twittear        <\/a><\/p>\n<footer>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Marc M\u00e1rquez<\/strong> went fastest in qualifying for the fifth time this season, taking the 70th pole position of his career.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dani Pedrosa<\/strong> was fourteenth in FP3 and had to go through Q1 -in which he finished second- to gain access to Q2.<\/p>\n<p>In FP4, M\u00e1rquez completed nine laps under 1:25, whilst Pedrosa did so six times.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tMarc M\u00e1rquez<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019m very, very happy with his pole because here it\u2019s very important for the first corner, and because so far we\u2019ve done much better than last year. We\u2019ve really taken a good step forward with the bike; we already had a good engine, but we were struggling with some wheelying. We worked a lot on this aspect and now I feel much more comfortable with my bike. We also prepared very well for this race. During the Monday post-race test in Brno, we tried many different configurations focused on this track, and that allowed us to start with a good base even on Friday morning. So at the moment it looks like our pace is very good, but as always, it\u2019s the race that counts. We\u2019ll try to give everything again, but it will be very important to choose the right rear tyre. Today we worked with the soft and hard rears, so we\u2019ll probably try the medium in tomorrow\u2019s warm-up and then make our choice.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>\n\t\tDani Pedrosa<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The key today for us was FP3 and the fact that for some reasons we weren\u2019t able to set a good lap time when we fit a soft rear tyre in the final minutes of the session. I suffered a lot of spinning and wasn\u2019t able to be fast enough. FP4 went better; we had a good pace, and also in Q1 I was able to do a fast lap time, but on a medium rear. I made it to Q2, but at that point I didn\u2019t have enough new tyres left to make both runs on a new set of tyres. I ran on a bit of a mix and although we were able to recover some places, it wasn\u2019t enough to get a good grid position. Getting off well at the start will be important in order to make it through the first three corners in a good position. We don\u2019t know yet which rear tyre we\u2019ll use in the race. We have to wait to see what weather and temperatures we\u2019ll have.
